One thought on “Do Sports Belong At Geek Conventions?”
The Toronto FanExpo is an odd duck. Hobbystar began as a collectables con company, dealing with such things as comics, sports trading cards, and sports memorabilia. The geeks took over when anime and manga got big. The addition of the sports types is Hobbystar returning to roots.
I don’t think they’re going to revert back to just sports. The geek factor has helped them expand greatly. I think they just want some of their older crowd to also be there.
