Today I delve into the world of OCs, Mary Sues, character creation, and online critique.

Just a note here – I may have misused the word “cyberbullying.” I used that word in the podcast to refer to an intense but short onslaught of troll comments I got on a picture. That’s not really cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is when people use the Internet to harass someone for an extended period of time, sometimes using social media to blackmail the person, and often including all kinds of threats. Sorry – I was stuck for a synonym for “trolling” and accidentally used a much stronger word instead. For someone who’s been offline bullied for pretty much all her formative years, I should know better than to play it down by watering down the word, so sorry about that.
